Yes, the asshat traveling slowly in the left lane is obnoxious, BUT, the tool going 10 miles under the speed limit in the middle lane, who clearly belongs on a secondary road, is just as bad. What’s funny is that everyone gets caught in this lapse of judgement of driving in the fast lane at your own speed and not keeping with the flow of traffic or passing… Ultimately yeah, the left lane is for passing and staying with the flow of traffic, yes the flow of traffic doesn’t supersede the speed limit but if you want to drive the speed limit stay in the right lanes

I don’t need to get over.” I think it’s also just to be an asshole imo. I use the passing lane to pass slower traffic. If I’m doing 25 over the limit and actively passing people, and you’re on my ass because it’s not fast enough for you, you can fuck right off. People like this are either completely unaware of their surroundings, selfish, or wanna be law enforcement that couldn’t get through training. I’ll take this a step further and say that on 3 lane roads, most middle lane cruiser have zero reason to be where they are either, as you often see them get passed on both the right and left lanes. So many drivers (including me) use the left lane where i live (Maine). Sometimes the right lane is moving faster cause it’s way less congested. 🤣 I’ll be honest with you, Chief. I’m speeding and trying to get home. I don’t mean to be a jerk, I just hate sitting behind people on an open highway. The left lane is wide open and I know I can pass all of you and then get to a stretch of road with no one on it. Then, I can cruise at a good 10 mph over the speed limit instead of sitting on someone’s rear end, going just a little bit under the speed limit. Nobody is worse than the “Holier than thou wannabee traffic cops”. I can’t emphasize enough how stupid these people are. The safest way to drive is always with the flow of traffic. If you go with the flow, the speed of decision making at 80mph+ is just as slow as it is in bumper to bumper traffic, even potentially slower. You wanna go 65 though when everyone else is going 85? Well you just massively increased the number of decisions, and speed at which you’ll need to make them, compared to everyone else on the road.
